INFLUÊNCIA DO ESTRESSE CALÓRICO NA FISIOLOGIA HORMONAL DE BOVINOS

O setor pecuário brasileiro tem obtido destaque na economia nacional e mundial, como também na geração de empregos no mercado de trabalho, sendo impulsionado principalmente pela bovinocultura. Um dos fatores limitantes para essa atividade são condições ambientais adversas, no qual se configura em uma importante fonte de perda econômica e com efeitos adversos sobre a produção, reprodução, mortalidade de crias e sanidade em geral. O conhecimento da fisiologia hormonal serve de suporte e ajuda a identificar caso o animal se encontre em situação de estresse. Com isso, objetivou-se com esse trabalho enfatizar os efeitos do estresse calórico sobre fisiologia hormonal na espécie bovina. A partir do que foi exposto é possível concluir que o estresse térmico gera inúmeras alterações fisiológicas nos bovinos, tornando-os mais susceptíveis a doenças e influenciando negativamente na produção e reprodução desses animais. Sabendo-se que é impossível evitar a influência ambiental na criação animal, deve-se pelo menos reduzir esses efeitos a fim de proporcionar melhor produtividade e bem estar animal. Em condições ambientais estressantes, modificações no manejo, nutrição, instalações e equipamentos, devem ser realizadas, para melhorar o conforto térmico e assim maximizar a produtividade.
